NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS - 14 March 2021

The Buy / Sell / Swap subforum is suspended with immediate effect. The suspension is permanent. Posting privileges to the subforum have been removed for all members regardless of status. Existing threads are preserved as a read-only archive.

The suspension follows correspondence recieved this morning from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission concerning specific listings posted to the subforum between October 2020 and March 2021. The matter is now in the hands of our retained legal representatives Mavroyiannis & Partners (Hurstville) and we will not be commenting further on this thread, in PMs, or anywhere else on the forum.

To be clear:

  • The forum is not closing. Other subforums continue as normal.
  • The Buy/Sell archive remains visible to all members and the public for historical reference. The ASIC matter does not require deletion, only suspension of further activity.
  • If you posted in any of the listings under examination you may be contacted directly by Mavroyiannis & Partners. Cooperate. Do not contact ASIC unprompted. Do not contact other listees.
  • If you are approached by ASIC directly please notify me by PM the same day. Do not respond before doing so.
  • The forum has not been served with any takedown notice. The site continues operating normally.
  • Do not post about the matter in other subforums. SMP ยง11.4 will be enforced. The matter is closed for discussion until further notice from me or Mavroyiannis & Partners.

I want to thank the members who used Buy/Sell properly over the years. Most of you did. The subforum worked for nearly six years and alot of cars found a lot of good homes through it.

To the small number of members whose listings triggered this: I am not naming you here. You know who you are. Mavroyiannis will be in touch.

The site continues. We adapt and we keep going. Sunday meets are unaffected. H.A.R.D.A.N.A.Legends activities are unaffected. The clubs are unaffected.
