How do I register? Click Register. Fill in the form. Submit. The administrator reviews registrations. Typical turnaround 1 to 2 weeks. You will receive an email at the address on file when your account is elevated.

I registered weeks ago and haven't been approved. Email admin@classicmercforum.com.au. Allow 7 days for reply. Do not PM the administrator. PMs about registration go to a folder he checks fortnightly. See SMP §1.2.

I can read the forum. Why can't I post? Reading is open to guests. Posting requires an approved account. See above.

Can I change my username? No. Usernames are permanent. Exceptions for marriage, deed poll, or operational security. See SMP §2.2.

What is the difference between "registered" and "club authenticated"? Registration gets you posting privileges in the public forum. Club authentication gets you access to the club subforums (M.A.L.A.K.A.S., H.A.R.D.A.N.A.Legends, the GAMCC chapters, MCDA, ACHMLA, ESLCCMC, WWHMCC, WSCMCC). They are separate processes. See club authentication help.

How long does club authentication take? Depends on the club secretary. Usually 1 to 2 weeks if the paperwork is complete. See SMP §6.2.

I don't have a social media account. Fine. Club verification is handled by the relevant club secretary.

Why does the forum have club authentication? Because club subforums include member rosters, meet details and private event photos. Forum account and club membership have to match.

Why can't I post in the Buy / Sell / Swap archive? The Buy / Sell / Swap archive has been closed to new posts since 14-03-2021 following correspondence from the Australian Securities & Investments Commission. The archive remains accessible for historical reference only. Do not try to start a workaround thread in another subforum. See SMP §10.

Why was my post moved to another subforum? Posts are moved when they belong elsewhere. Moves are at the administrator's discretion. Members shall not contest moves. See SMP §3.2.

Why was a portion of my post redacted? Third-party personal information (phone numbers, addresses, registration plates of vehicles not owned by the poster, names of family members) is redacted on detection. See SMP §3.6.

I want to discuss W210 classic status. No.

The forum was offline this morning. The server is privately maintained on a residential-grade connection. Outages happen. The server returns when the administrator can attend to it. See SMP §12.1 - §12.3.

I'm not receiving emails from the forum. Check your spam folder. Bigpond, Optusnet, and certain Gmail rule-sets have flagged this domain at various times since 2014. See SMP §12.2.

I can't see images in some old threads. Some imagehosts that members used in the early years (Photobucket, ImageShack) have gone offline or paywalled. Images uploaded to the forum directly remain visible. We are not retroactively recovering linked images.

My password reset email never arrived. See above re: spam folder. If still not arrived after 24 hours, post in Site Issues with your username and Lefteris will reset manually.
