Welcome to the forum dimitri.

For a serious response from a serious buyer, the following information would be helpful: VIN number (or last six digits), engine code (M103 inline-six versus M104 inline-six - the value difference is significant), driveline configuration (auto or manual, the rare option), interior condition (the blue cloth on Australian-delivery cars is prone to UV fade, particularly Canberra cars due to altitude), service history continuity (any gaps in the book), and rust assessment (boot floor, jacking points, sunroof drains).

Photographs would assist, particularly of the engine bay, the boot floor with the spare wheel removed, and the interior including the headlining and dashtop.

Best of luck with the sale.

Mate I literally said in the post don't waste my time. You're asking for 9 photos and the VIN, that's not "serious buyer" stuff that's tyre kicker stuff.

If you want to buy it come to Canberra with $12,500 and see it. Bring your wife she can drive yours home.

Otherwise scroll past.

Dimitri.

Hugo's questions are the questions every buyer of a $12,500 W124 will ask before driving 3.5 hours to Canberra. They're not designed to insult your grandparents' car. They are designed to filter the buyers who will commit from the buyers who will get to Canberra and try to renegotiate at $9,500.

If you answer them now in your post, you save yourself the dramas of buyers turning up and finding things that weren't disclosed.

Also - "blue cloth interior" plus "1 owner from new" plus "books and service records" plus "Canberra" plus "1991" reads as a $14-16k car at top of market, not $12,500. You may be underselling it.

Take a breath and post some photos. The thread will respond positively.

Look I appreciate you trying to help "Billy" but I'm not posting 17 photos for a $12,500 car. If it was a $50k car sure but this is a Pop's car. The whole point of selling it on forums is so I don't have to deal with 4 people coming to look at it. Whoever brings $12,500 first gets it.

Its an M103 inline six. Manual. Original Sydney delivery to my Pop in 91 who moved to Canberra in 1996. Service every 10,000 from new at Macarthur Mercedes Canberra. Engine clean. No rust I can see.

That should be enough.

A 1991 W124 300E MANUAL. With a known dealer servicing history. From Canberra. 142,000km.

Dimitri I cannot stress this enough - the manual W124 300E in Australia is genuinely rare. Probably fewer than 250 manuals were sold here new across the entire W124 production run, total. Smoke silver over blue cloth, manual, 1991, Macarthur Canberra delivery, is potentially a $22,000-$25,000 car if presented properly.

You are leaving $10,000 on the table by selling it to "whoever brings $12,500 first."

Please. For your grandfather. Post photographs.

Dimitri I'll come to Canberra tomrrow with $13,500 cash if you stop posting and just PM me. Manual 300E in Smoke Silver moves fast through my Strathfield client base.

I'll even drive your Pop's car back to Sydney myself, you don't need to put it on a trailer.

[6 replies omitted - dimitri responded to Johnny with "$13,500 is still tyre kicker money mate $14,500 firm." Three more members tried to politely advise him. Banksia_Park_Berny mentioned Steve once. Wilfried_Stuttgart suggested the car should be 22,000 EUR equivalent. dimitri got increasingly defensive.]

Sold privately to a family friend for $11,800. He drove it home to Yass. Pop is happy.

This forum is exhausting.
