quick one..

Sunday cruise season is coming up. Annual question. Where is the best spot to roll into for breakfast after the boys have gone out for a drive.

For me it has always been the cafe at La Perouse on the corner. mrs B disagrees. She wants Berowra Waters Inn cos her sister works there sometimes. I am not driving to Berowra at 6am for a coffee.

What you boys reckon

BROOOS..

The cafe outside Auburn Mercedes-Benz on a Sunday morning is unbeatable. The owner does a baklava with the coffee. He is my cousin's wife's brother. He will look after you boys if you mention me.

Not for the food. For the parking. You can roll 6 cars deep into that lot and the boys come out of the dealership and stare. Best parking display in Sydney.

Gentlemen..

Bills in Darlinghurst.. proper coffee, the eggs are correct, and the courtyard fits four cars side-by-side if you arrive before 8am. The waiters know not to comment on the cars even when they recognise them.

Berny, La Perouse is too far for those of us in the inner east. And Johnny, Auburn is too far for everyone else.

The bakery at Brighton-Le-Sands is the answer Boonie.. has been since 2008. We were going there before Boonie's mum was even letting him out of the house alone..

Real talk - the spot we should all be going to is The Corinthian. Saturday breakfast not Sunday. They remember your order. That is the real answer but parking is hopeless so we cant do it as a meet.

Chris. NO CAR SHOW AT THE DELI. My old man will actually murder me. He has been very clear on this. The laneway is small AND he says half the boys block the bin truck. He has been writing it on a piece of cardboard for two years now and stuck it on the front window.

Come for the eggs on toast. Park around the corner. Walk in. No badges no club shirts no nothing. Be a normal person at 8am on a Saturday.

Anyway.. Real answer is Bills.

So we have Brighton-Le-Sands, Auburn, Bills, and The Corinthian. And nobody has backed La Perouse. Mrs B will be smug.

Boys i propose we just rotate it. Different one each Sunday. Whoever organises picks. Vasilios you in for next Sunday and you pick

Berny..

I am happy to pick next Sunday.. brighton-Le-Sands bakery, 7am. Boonie pick Sunday after. If it rains we move to Bills (covered courtyard).

Edit - actually 730am, the bakery does not have the right pastries out at 7. Confirmed with the owner just now.

boys quick aside. Last Sunday Jim's wife came home at 4:30pm with a takeaway platter from Olympic Meats (Tim is her cousin). The timing was perfect, i had just finished re-spraying Jim's rear end. We sat in the shed and ate. Good day.

Anyway. Confirmed for next Sunday 730 Brighton-Le-Sands. Will bring the takeaway leftovers if there are any. Probably not.
