FOR SALE - 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC (C107) - whole car - $2,400 firm - Sutherland NSW
BRO. Listen.
I got this 1976 450SLC sitting at my cousin Yianni's yard in Sutherland and it has to move. It's been there 18 months. Yianni's wife is on me. I'm on Yianni. Now I'm on you.

The car:
- 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450SLC (C107)
- Topas Brown over tan MB-Tex (some splits in driver seat)
- M117 4.5 litre V8 - turns over by hand, NOT running, hasn't run since 2009
- Auto trans - condition unknown, presumed fine
- Hatchback rear glass intact, no cracks
- Rear seats fold flat (the inline 2+2 thing the SLC does)
- Headlining is gone. Just gone.
- Floor pans solid (Yianni stood on them, he weighs 110kg)
- Original 14" alloys, three are good, one is curbed
- Body has surface rust on the bonnet but the panels are straight
The price: $2,400 firm for the WHOLE CAR.
BUT - and this is the bit you need to read - if you want to part it out I'll do you the parts at these prices and you take the shell away for free:
- Engine (M117 4.5, turns by hand) - $800
- Gearbox (auto, condition unknown) - $400
- Front seats (pair, MB-Tex) - $300
- Rear seats (full set, fold-flat) - $200
- Doors (pair, no rust at bottom) - $400 each
- Bonnet - $250
- Boot lid with hatchback glass - $300
- 14" alloys x 3 good - $150 each
- Full grille and headlights assembly - $250
- Dashboard (cracked but complete) - $180
- Rear taillights (pair) - $80
- Bumpers (pair, chrome) - $200
- Wiring loom (complete pull, dry car) - $150
- Steering wheel - $80
- Books and tool roll - $120 (this is a steal for someone restoring a clean one)
If you do the maths that is $4,930 worth of parts on a $2,400 car. Whole-car buyer comes out $2,530 ahead before you've sold a thing.
I'll throw in: the spare wheel (still has the original Michelin XAS from 1981), the jack, the tool roll, the owner's manual in the original wallet, and a half-bottle of Castrol GTX from the boot.

Cash on the day. Sutherland pickup only. I can put you in touch with Yianni for the transport if you can't tow.
BRO. PM me. The car needs to go this weekend.
Photos below. More on request.
(Yianni says the engine seized in 2009 because someone tried to run it on E10 and it didn't like it. I am not a mechanic but my cousin Billy says the M117 doesn't seize on its own and the rings are probably stuck not gone. He's not the seller, I'm the seller, but he was at the yard last weekend and gave me his honest read.)
