Car: (wrecking yard)

G'day fellas. New member here from Victoria.

Wrecking a 1989 W126 420 SEL out of Panton Hill, half hour north-east of Melbourne. The car was in the shed when I bought the property and the previous owner left it for me. I am not a Mercedes man, I am a sheep man, and I need the shed back.

420SEL wrecking yard

Everything is $1. I am not joking. A dollar each. Pickup Panton Hill only. Cash on the day, no Paypal, no holds.

If you take more than ten items it's still a dollar each. If you take everything I'll throw the shell in for another dollar.

Parts list:

  • Front bumper - $1
  • Rear bumper - $1
  • Front doors (pair) - $1 each = $2
  • Rear doors (pair) - $1 each = $2

  • Auto trans (722 series, condition unknown) - $1
  • Differential (3.07 ratio) - $1

Geoff welcome.

buyers.. W126 420 SEL is 1985-1991, M116 4.2 V8 and Bosch K-Jet are known gear. even sitting since 2009 the engine is worth more then $1 to a W126 420 SEL or 500 SEC owner.

NSW boys, freight from Panton Hill is the pain. allow $400-500 up the Hume if you want useful bits.

Geoff im happy to fly down next weekend for engine, trans, diff, exhaust and loom. PM sent.. cash and trailer hire, simple.

BRO. Geoff. Mate.

$1 each is leaving money on the table. M116 V8 alone is $1,200 to the right buyer. auto trans $400. diff $300. your at $1,900 in three parts before a door handle moves.

Ill buy engine, trans, diff and wiring loom for $200 cash if Billy doesnt beat me. Panton Hill next Saturday. dont sell those four for $4.. thats criminal.

Fellas. Thanks for the messages.

I will not be selling the engine for $1,200 or any of these other valuations because I do not want $1,200. I want the shed empty by Easter. The dollar listings are not a starting price they are the price.

Billy got in first. Billy can have the engine, trans, diff, and wiring loom for $4. He flew over yesterday morning, drove out to the property, brought a trailer, and was gone by 3 PM.

Johnny I respect the offer but im not running a business. I'm a sheep man.

Remaining 85 items still at $1 each. Cash on the day. Pickup Panton Hill.

Cheers..

Geoff you're a good bloke.

Steve woulda flown to Melbourne for this. He woulda taken the lot. He woulda paid you fair money on the day not $89.

Anyway if the rear seat is still there I want it. My SEL has cigarette burns on the rear bench from the previous owner and a clean blue leather replacement at $1 is what dreams are made of. PM sent.

Procedural note.

Geoff_Panton_Hill is a Junior Member with four posts. Members are reminded that inter-state Buy / Sell listings from non-Approved sellers must be conducted with the additional verification steps in SMP §10.4. In particular: (a) the seller must include vehicle registration documentation in the OP or as a follow-up post, (b) the buyer is responsible for any freight, transit insurance, and storage costs, and (c) the forum holds no escrow and is not a party to the transaction.

For this thread specifically: I have spoken with Geoff via PM and confirmed his bona fides. He is a sheep farmer in Panton Hill. The W126 420 SEL is on his property. The listing prices are as stated. He is not running a business and the $1 listings reflect a genuine wish to clear the shed.

Buyers proceeding with this transaction do so under thier own responsibility. The forum's involvement ends with this thread.

Geoff - welcome to the forum, and good luck with the shed.

Update from Panton Hill.

The shed is mostly empty.

Billy took the engine, trans, diff, and wiring loom. $4. As agreed. Brought a six pack of VB. Stayed for lunch. The wife liked him.

Berny got the rear seat shipped to Banksia Park. $1 plus $42 for the courier. He said his wife also liked the blue.

Viktor got the struts, shocks, springs, and brake calipers when he drove down on Saturday. $10 for the four lots as he offered. Stayed two hours, didn't speak much, took photos of the property, left.

Remaining items: 71. Still $1 each.

If anyone in Victoria or Tasmania wants the shell and the remaining 71 items as a single lot for the original "everything for $112 plus shell for $1" offer I would prefer that. The forklift hire to lift the shell onto a trailer is $180.

good place this forum..

Geoff mate I'm out at Glen Waverley, half hour from you. I'll take the lot of remaining 71 parts plus the shell for $113. Cash on the day. I'll bring my own forklift.

I'm building a W126 420 from a W126 380 shell I picked up last year and I need pretty much everything youve got. The shell I'll cut up for the rear three-quarter panels since mine are rotten.

Saturday 15-03 works if you're around.

Malcolm. Done. $113 cash Saturday 15-03. Bring the forklift, bring the trailer, bring patience.

Total recovered from the shed clear-out: $130. Which is less than I would of got selling individual parts according to Johnny but more than I would have got setting the car on fire which was my plan three weeks ago.

Thank you to this forum. You're a strange bunch of men but you've been straight with me.

Cheers.
