Chasing parts 67, 74 and 75 for column shift if anyone knows an Australian supplier or a trusted overseas one

Mercedes column shift parts diagram Tafel 14 highlighting items 67 74 75

Tafel 14 Getriebe / Transmission - the items highlighted in red (74 specifically, and 67 and 75 which connect either side).

Shifter is sloppy and the horn keeps going off due to metal-to-metal contact from the bushes being worn out. Need to do the rebuild before HVS renewal in May.

Nathan Sharma did it make a massive difference in your reverse gear mate?

James my issue was the horn kept going off due to the metal to metal contact from the bushes being worn out, but it did make the shifter feel smoother, less slop.

These can still be ordered from a MB dealership.

To confirm Craig's part numbers:

  • Item 67 (column shift selector lever lower bush): 111 997 12 40
  • Item 74 (mid-shaft sleeve bush): 111 268 03 92
  • Item 75 (lower selector arm bush): 180 268 00 57

The W180 part number for item 75 is correct - the bush was carried over from the earlier 180 series into the W108 column shift assembly, which is why the part number doesn't follow the 111 prefix..

All three are currently in production via Mercedes-Benz Classic, lead time approximately 6 weeks ex Stuttgart.. approximately $14, $22, and $18 respectively from Mercedes-Benz Australia parts counter.

McStarparts Sydney (Garry's referral - the number is correct, 0418 636 ***) holds stock of items 67 and 74 but typically not 75 - they substitute the W180 part from their German supplier within 10 days. Mac at McStarparts is a reliable supplier who has been on the M.A.L.A.K.A.S. trusted-restorer list since 2011.

Update - rang McStarparts Wednesday, Mac confirmed 67 and 74 in stock, 75 on order from Germany 10 days. Total $54 for the three bushes. Picked up Friday.

Shifter rebuild this weekend. Will report back.

Thank you Nathan, John, Craig, Garry, Hugo. This is exactly why I joined the forum.
