Any tips on replacing these bushes - W108 diff swap in progress

Lachlan - the bush in your photo is the W108 rear diff mount upper bush (part 108 351 02 14). Three replacement approaches in order of preference:

1. Press in/out at a workshop - Performance Suspension Sydney (Roy, 02 8765 1100, Strathfield) does W108 diff bushes at $65 per bush including removal of old, install of new. They have the correct mandrel for the W108 housing. 90-minute job per pair.
2. DIY with a hydraulic press - if you have access to a 20-ton press and the correct mandrel (M-Tools sell the W108-specific mandrel for $240), you can do this in your shed. The old bush is rusted in solid as you can see in your photo - expect 8-10 tons of press force to remove.
3. DIY with hammer and socket - do not attempt. The W108 diff housing is cast aluminium and will crack if you side-load it with a hammer. The repair cost of a cracked housing is $2,800 for a replacement. The $65 at Roy's is the right answer.

Buy genuine Lemförder bushes (108 351 02 14) at $38 each, you need 2 per side for the diff swap. Total parts + labour at Roy's = $412 for the full diff bush refresh. Right answer.
