Hello Hello.... im getting delivery of my W108 250S 1966 model... It's runs... but hasn't been driven for 12 years. What's the first few things I should do? Example... oil change, flash fuel tank etc.
Any tips?

I had it stored on a farm for over 1 year... hence why it needs a clean...

Leo congrats on the 250S.. but dont turn the key yet.

Drain every fluid first. engine, gearbox, diff, coolant, brake fluid, fuel tank and lines. catch it clean so you can see mud coolant, green brake fluid, milky oil etc.

Fuel tank out. if rust crystals or varnish, vinegar then Wynn's carb cleaner then POR-15. replace all rubber fuel hose, 10m Cohline 2240. service the mechanical pump.

Cooling - hose flush the block, thermostat Tridon TT225-180, hoses, radiator recore if ugly. Brakes - all new fluid and check flex hoses, 12 years is too long. Ignition - points, condenser, plugs, cap, rotor, leads.

Then plugs out, 2ml light oil down each cylinder, wait, turn by hand with 27mm on crank. must turn free. only then try fresh fuel and 5 second cranks.

Car looks dry and honest. full recommission is 4-6 weekends, not one Saturday with a battery..

I have.Billy's list is correct. Also check the brake hard lines under the car.12 years of moisture in the lines creates pitting from the inside. If you see surface rust on the outside the inside is worse.New hard lines $480 for the set kunifer.Done it 3 times now.westsydneyrestorationsbuilds.on facebook

Billy this is exactly the structured walkthrough I needed. Saving and printing. Booked the trailer to deliver Sunday. Will start with the fluid drain Monday after work as Step 1.

Viktor noted on the brake hard lines - will inspect when I'm under there. Kunifer set $480 booked into the budget.

Boonie cheers mate. Steve sounds like he'd be a good bloke to have around.

Will start a build thread once she's in my garage. Updates incoming.
