Marty - 1971 280SE M130 with documented 88,000 miles is approximately 70% below the average mileage for a surviving Australian-delivery 280SE.. the car shows well in your photo - the chrome reflectivity is correct and the body line behind the C-pillar is straight (no sag indicating major rust beneath the paint).
$15,000 is the right price for "good runner, paint and minor maintenance" condition. A concours-grade 280SE 1971 is currently $38,000-48,000. The path from your car to concours is approximately $18,000-24,000 in paint and detail work, which leaves comfortable margin for the eventual owner..
