Pertronix 91885 to suit 3.5L V8, was in my 1972 280SE for a few months and very little use.
Simple install, I removed the entire transistorised points ignition to run the petronix at 12v with a 12v Mallory coil, ran well but will not work with my new ECU install. These are getting expensive and harder to get.

Paul - buyers.. Pertronix 91885 is Ignitor I for Bosch 8-cylinder distributor on M116 3.5L V8 and M117 4.5L V8 W108 / W109 / W116. replaces points with Hall-effect and runs 12V.
$150 is fair. new from Summit is $119 US + $38 US freight, about $240ish. so $150 + $14 post saves roughly $80.
Important bit.. 91885 wont work with factory MB transistor box. remove the box and run Mallory or equivalent 12V coil direct, like Paul said. after that going back original means finding another box, and theyre dear.
Driver car, good upgrade. concours car, leave it alone.
