Dead W126 cruise at 348,000km is 95% the white plastic gear in the actuator. assembly is 000 545 50 32, discontinued. gear was never sold by Mercedes.

Buy the brass replacement from UK eBay, seller klassik-gears or close enough. about GBP 28 plus post, 14 days. firewall left side, four screws, two plugs, open cover, swap gear. first one takes an hour because the circlip vanishes. next one 25 minutes.

Florida PETG printed gear exists, $18 US. dont bother.

Boonie knock $300 off Yianni's price. he will say small thing. if small he would of fixed it. buy brass gear, do it next weekend, learn the system, then go to sleep..

Anyway.. The car is good. Yianni bought it off a Greek doctor in 2014, the doctor garaged it from 89 to 2014, 178k km when Yianni picked it up. Since then it's done daily Auburn-Strathfield, no major issues, services every 10k at my brother's place in Auburn. Cobra Blue 904. Palomino interior. Sunroof works. The cruise has been off for years yes, Yianni does not use cruise, he says cruise control is for Americans.

$2,400 is fair. But Billy is right, the dead cruise is worth $300 off so make it $2,100. Tell Yianni I told you to ask for $2,100 and to mention my mother. He will say no for 10 minutes then he will say yes.

I have.A 126.044 amplifier from a parts car.The gear is intact.I checked last year.It is on the shelf at Geo and Jim's restorations as a kid.I can i must say something sunday.

The 420SEL is a good car.M116.965.Do not let Yianni put a 116 from a SEC in there.It is not the same engine.I have seen this twice.

Viktor - the 126.044 designation is the chassis. The amplifier part you are referring to is the same physical unit across 126.024 / 126.033 / 126.034 / 126.035 / 126.044. So if the one on your shelf is genuinely intact it would fit Boonie's 420SEL. That part you have right.

However - the W126 cruise amplifier from a parts car that has been sitting in a Doonside shed since the late 90s is not a thing I would put in a car you're about to drive to Auburn and back. The capacitors inside age, the diaphragm hardens. You'd be swapping a known fault for a probably-fault.

Boonie - buy the new brass gear. Use Viktor's amplifier as a parts donor if your original housing is cracked. Not as the working unit.
